A few weeks before the wedding, photos of the courtyard where the wedding ceremony and reception were to take place were sent to the artist. A preliminary sketch was done and sent to the couple. Once the “view” was approved, and a few “tweaks” were done, such as placing the moon in the correct phase for the wedding night…..
…..the image was then painted, and matted with a 3″ off-white mat and framed in a standard 18″ x 24″ frame (the final framing with glass was done after the reception). It was placed on an easel at the wedding reception; everyone signed the mat. Unique, fun, different.
This wedding took place at the My Moon Restaurant in Williamsburg, New York, September 2012. Thank you to NylaGray Photography for allowing the use of the wonderful wedding photos. See more of their work at www.nylagray.com.
And now the painting hangs in the couple’s home as a daily reminder of their special day!
